Bro, can you spare a HOUSE?

Leslie Brown

In a world of “Me” generations run amok, and a “Divider in Chief”; how gratifying to see someone put their neighbor FIRST like we are SUPPOSED to do in the first place.

I’m so grateful to have parents like this giving man has. Tony Tolbert’s childhood bedroom in his parent’s house often went to help those who needed a place to stay. Following the pattern set by his parents, he is doing that one better.

Tony is moving back into the bedroom of his family home and allowing a family of four to stay in his home in Los Angeles for one year, so they can get back on their feet; amazing.

Because some homeless shelters only house adults, the family of Felicia Dukes has been separated; with she and her oldest son housed (if they are lucky) apart from the younger children.

Sadly, Tony’s father suffers Alzheimer’s and is unaware of his son’s kind act, but the modeling he did of generosity has taken root in Tony’s mind and continues to grow. An entire family who will not soon forget the gift of unity a stranger provided for them.

“Kindness creates kindness. Generosity creates generosity. Love creates love,” Tolbert said. “And I think if we can share some of that and have more stories about people doing nice things for other people, and fewer stories about people doing horrible things to other people, that’s a better world.”
