Wow if this dude doesn’t start your week off with a bang, you might want to go get your thyroid tested. I’m just sayin’

It’s all about the attitude. Here is one of my favorite quotes by Chuck Swindoll:

“We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you… we are in charge of our Attitudes.”

Well, the kid in this story, Apollos Hester of East View High School in Georgetown, Texas is a living, breathing embodiment of a good attitude. There is no “soaking in his juices of sorrow” (as my goofy family says) with this guy! It was his winning attitude and that of the coach that played a huge part in this football team winning, with a come-from-behind victory over Vandergrift High School.

The reporter asked the question, “What were you guys able to do to come back and win this thing?”
Apollos told her, in the interview, said to be one of the best interviews of the year, “We started slow, we started real slow, and that’s O.K. Always finish hard and fast….All it takes to be successful is an attitude.”

I also heard a lovely “Yes, ma’am”, in the interview, talk of time and effort put in, and a heart that gave the glory to God.
We need more people like this young man who doesn’t ask “Why?” but “Why not?, and never gives up.
