The beauty of living in a Constitutional Republic is that one has fifty little laboratories in which to observe differing economic models, and see which work best. For example Wisconsin and Texas are doing “swimmingly”, Illinois and California…..not so much.
The more times an experiment is conducted, the more accurate the results, so doing away with individual states rights, philosophies and tax structure, is, how shall I say this…..STUPID!
Common Core seeks to pretty much “Nationalize” curriculum in an Adolf-Hitler-sort-of-way.

In order to make it possible for every capable and industrious German to obtain higher education, and thus the opportunity to reach into positions of leadership, the State must assume the responsibility of organizing thoroughly the entire cultural system of the people. The curricula of all educational establishments shall be adapted to practical life. The conception of the State Idea (science of citizenship) must be taught in the schools from the very beginning. We demand that specially talented children of poor parents, whatever their station or occupation, be educated at the expense of the State.
I don’t know about you, but I think we could probably manage pretty well without the Department of Education, and that’s just for starters. Kids aren’t even learning cursive in school in many districts. Why? Because it usually isn’t tested at the state level, so scr&w it. We need more LOCAL control, not less.
How are these kids these days ever gonna rent a couch from Rent-a-Center when they grow up? (Just kidding…eww…). Are they going to have to scrawl an “X” for their signature like some hillbilly moonshiner signing away the family homestead?
Most families probably have a “Granny” or some sort of historical matriarch. “Granny stories” keep my family “in stitches”; for example. Granny wouldn’t use her dishwasher to wash dishes, she used it for storing and organizing her bills; preferring to do the dishes by hand. Towards the end of her life Granny wore a wig, only backwards.
The story that really cracks my cousin and I up is how back before seatbelts, and YES, that was before my time…Granny had people in her back seat “lock arms”. I guess that way, in the event of a crash everyone would be thrown from the car “en masse. That’s kinda like Common Core; we might be headed for disaster, but, at least we’ll all be together….
I think horror movies are plain and simply dark and I don’t watch them. The following clip is from 1978 and is so silly and corny and I don’t think it’s dark, just funny, so I hope no one is offended and if you get offended THAT easily, you’re probably a liberal anyway.
