Bill Cosby (Part 1): Cosby has been sentenced to Lingchi.

Christopher Harris

It’s one thing to violently take a man’s life. It’s an entirely different and more heinous thing to destroy a man’s life by destroying his reputation.

Author and satirist, Samuel Clemens (also known as Mark Twain) famously said, “A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes.”  If you are anything like me, you probably found yourself thinking, “Who did Bill Cosby piss off?!?!” because all of these “accusations” (most recently made by Linda Brown and Lise-Lotte Lublin) are clearly intended to destroy his life, by destroying his reputation. Clearly, someone has sentenced him to “Lingchi”, and they are very much aware of the speed of which a simple “accusation” can travel with the technology and media we have today. In an Unhyphenated America, you are supposed to be INNOCENT, until PROVEN GUILTY in a Court of Law. But apparently that doesn’t apply to Bill Cosby. This will be Part 1 in a series about what is happening to Bill Cosby, and the power of an “accusation”.

Bill Cosby - Death by a thousand cuts

It’s fairly obvious to me at this point that, regardless of whether he ever actually raped one woman, let alone allegedly dozens of women, Bill Cosby has been sentenced to “Lingchi”. Lingchi is a Chinese term that basically translates into English as “Death by a thousand cuts”. It was a method of torture and execution, utilized in China for nearly a thousand years, used to bring about a lingering death by methodically dismembering a human being over an extended period of time, or making enough cuts over a period of time so that the person slowly bled to death.

Lingchi was generally reserved for those who had committed the most heinous of crimes, such as TREASON, MASS MURDER, or PATRICIDE. It was also used as a tool to humiliate someone in life, and in death. When you think of the public “accusations” being levied…but no criminal charges being brought…in terms of his reputation, how can you see this as anything other than the Lingchi of Bill Cosby?

When I pick up my Bible, I see that in the third month after the children of Israel were delivered out of bondage in Egypt, they camped in the Wilderness of Sinai. Moses went before God, and was told  “You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself. Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.” Exodus 19:4-6 (NKJV).

Moses relayed that message to the children of Israel, and they agreed to enter into that covenant with God. God began by telling them, “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.” Exodus 20:2 (NKJV). He then proceeded to give the TEN COMMANDMENTS, the basis of Natural Law which has allowed Western Civilization to thrive and flourish.

In the case of what appears to be happening to Bill Cosby, the 9th Commandment comes to mind. God said, “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.” Exodus 20:16 (NKJV). If you are unsure about what that means, then you should check out an excellent series done by Dennis Prager’s “PRAGER UNIVERSITY” on the TEN COMMANDMENTS, specifically the one on the 9th COMMANDMENT. Prager said, “Lying is the Root of Evil – The most important ingredient to building a moral society is truth, both inside and outside a courtroom. The prohibition against “bearing false witness” does not only demands that truth reign supreme in a trial, but that it is a societal value throughout the culture. Bad things happen when people believe lies. With truth, we can build a decent society. Without it, even the other nine commandments won’t help.”

Now I am certainly not claiming that Bill Cosby is innocent, and that all of his “accusers” are lying, because I wasn’t there…and neither were you. However, when you get over the initial shock of the numerous “accusations”, and you take a step back, and begin to STOP, and THINK, I believe that just like me, you will ask, “Who did Bill Cosby piss off?!?!” It’s plainly obvious that no one is seeking “justice” with these “accusations”, otherwise they all would have made the “accusations” and filed criminal cases through the justice system back when these incidents allegedly happened, two plus decades ago. And honestly, the simple fact that someone like Gloria Allred is involved should speak volumes about the intentions and integrity of the “accusers”.

We know that Satan is “the great accuser”, and his first great “accusation” happened in the Garden of Eden, which is detailed in Genesis 3:4-5 (NKJV),  “Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.  For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”  You see, Satan understood that he didn’t have to offer any substantial proof in order to damage God’s reputation and destroy the relationship between God, Adam & Eve.  Satan knew that he simply needed to levy an “accusation”, and then let the worst aspect of human nature do the rest.

As I stated before, the next logical question one has to ask is, “Who did Bill Cosby piss off?!?!” And how far down have we fallen as Americans, when we seem to have no problem with allowing someone to be tried in the “Court of Public Opinion”, judged by the Mainstream Media, and sentenced to “Lingchi”, without ever allowing that person to have their day in a Court of Law to face their “accusers”. If there is one other point I believe you should ponder, it’s the question of who benefits from the destruction of the reputation of Bill Cosby? Maybe we should #FollowTheMoney. That is something we will address in Part 2.
