More “Jonathons” in the world.

Leslie Brown

Most kids have a “hole burning in their pocket” to spend any money they have; not this kid.

Jonathon Terhaar is a farm kid, from near Richmond Indiana. His chores include gathering the eggs from the chickens every day, and delivering them to customers. The profit is his to keep, but he rarely does.

With the respiratory problems Jonathan has, come cortisone treatments which causes puffiness, especially in the face. Maybe it’s the teasing he has had at school which has made him such a tender soul, because Jonathan loves buying public servants and others who feels are unappreciated gifts every chance he gets.

His parents couldn’t be prouder of him. Local police officer Aaron Stevens said, “If there were more “Jonathons” in the world, I would be out of job.”

Hard times can make people bitter or better; it’s a choice. Jonathon chooses the high road, and to help, not to hurt. He knows how it feels.
