This party su*ks! (in a good way)

Leslie Brown

I don’t like indulgent parties for kids, but I do like clever ones. It “don’t” get more clever than this one for a vacuum-cleaner-obsessed autistic kid!

Many autistic children have subjects of which they are particularly interested in, to the point of becoming resident experts. Dylan has been obsessed with vacuum cleaners since he was two.

Dylan’s mom wrote a letter to the Kirby Company, a vacuum cleaner manufacturer, asking if it would be possible for the company to send a salesman to perform a demonstration on Dylan’s birthday, and offered to pay for the service.

“I know that having this demo done would just be so awesome, and it would warm my heart to see him so excited to experience that,” his mother wrote the company.

When Al Archie, a vacuum salesman of 25 years, showed up at the birthday party, the entire room of family and friends was brought to tears. Mr. Archie presented Dylan with a brand new Kirby vacuum, as well as a soccer ball, a hat and a t-shirt bearing the Kirby logo.

“He knew more about the Kirby than I did,” Archie said of Dylan, reports FOX 13.

“I’m going to have the cleanest carpets in Chesterfield County,” Dylan’s mom joked.
