Tie one on!
Sheesh, this dang “global warming”! I’m wearing my nerdy “cuddle-duds” under my clothes today since our heat was out this morning.
I’m grateful to have warm things to wear, because near the desert where I live, it gets really, really cold!
A Wilmington, North Carolina couple were “out and about” when they noticed winter scarves and hats tied around various light poles, fire hydrants, and posts.
Upon closer inspection, they saw each of the items had a note attached which read: “I am not lost! If you need this to stay warm, then please take it. Be warm and do something to help someone else today if you can.”
How sweet is this! They say that “idle hands are tools of the devil” so it’s always a good idea to have a craft project, book or puzzle for something to do to stay busy. I can just imagine someone with a smile on their face happily knitting or crocheting an item for some “mystery person”.
I wonder if when the person wears the item, it will be like a tangible hug around the neck? Maybe some of the scarves are “store-bought”; no matter. The items were purchased or made for someone out of sheer kindness; not for any glory for themselves, but because someone out there really does care when someone is cold. The items will warm the outside of the person, but the kindness of the person who gave the item will warm a heart that will hopefully encourage them to do the same.
