No thanks.

The Bible talks about those who make a big deal those showing off their generosity. It’s not too keen on it.

A mystery woman went into a Toys R Us (worthy of a MEDAL right there….AMIRITE?) in Bellingham, Massachusetts and paid off, oh, say TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS worth of items placed on lay-away for children as Christmas gifts.

There were no camera crews, no reporters and the “bubbly older woman” gave the store manager a hugs and said, “If you’ve got it, give it.”

If you want to know what someone’s character is like, take a look-see at how they treat people who can do nothing in return for them; or see how they treat their servers at a restaurant. This will give you loads of information. Christ came to serve and not to be served. This is not readily seen these days in a world of “ME generation” and “everybodygetsatrophy” folks.

Be a rebel.

One employee said the woman told her that knowing the layaway purchases were taken care of would help her “sleep better at night.”

The Milford Daily News spoke to a customer whose tab was paid this week. The woman – who only gave her first name, Linda – said she only had $9 when she went holiday shopping for her two boys.

“I thought, ‘You have to be kidding me,'” she said. “I almost wanted to cry. It was only $50, but to me that’s a lot of money, and that someone would go and do that gave me chills.

“What she did was so caring and thoughtful,” Linda added. “I feel like I was part of something special – touched by an angel.”
