It seems unfathomable in this day and age that women still die during childbirth, but it happens. Sometimes both the mother and child die. Then what?
A week ago today Ashley Picco died from complications from the premature birth of baby boy Lennon. The baby survived for three days, later passing away in his father’s arms.
What is the price of a mother? What is the price of an innocent baby? Were someone to have burst into the delivery room before Ashley passed away and shot her, that would be considered a murder. What if someone did the same to the tiny baby, eyes unable to focus on the unexpected intruder?
Does a different “cause of death” UN-make murder? What if Ashley and Chris had chosen to abort baby Lennon the very week he was later born. Is that murder? They could have done it and walked away away without a thought, if they had no consciences.
You see, we elected a man to the be the President of our nation who is A.O.K. with extinguishing the life of tiny ones like Lennon. Extinguishing their flame even AFTER they are born. We have brought this abomination on our nation, then, some scratch their heads and wonder at the increased division, the lack of respect for life, the refusal to call pagans “pagans”, and the importing of pestilence.
Elections have consequences. Sadly the most vulnerable among us have no “say so” in the matter because “pro-choice” only means “choice” for the killer, not the one to be killed.
The more innocent the victim, the more heinous the crime.~LB
Obama, Senate floor, 2002: [A]dding a – an additional doctor who then has to be called in an emergency situation to come in and make these assessments is really designed simply to burden the original decision of the woman and the physician to induce labor and perform an abortion. … I think it’s important to understand that this issue ultimately is about abortion and not live births.
Fund for the family who have huge expenses.
