UA Amazing Artist: Christopher Duffley
It is said you are to “dance like nobody’s watching”. If it was ME we were talking about, you could say, “sing like nobody’s listening” too! But trust me, you’ll WANNA listen to these siblings.
Christopher Duffley, of the duo, lost his vision from complications of being born extremely premature at 1 pound 12 ounces; he also has autism.
This is the prayer spoken by Christopher’s mother in preparation for his homecoming as a tiny infant:
Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil.” The Prayer of Jabez
This prayer, taken from 1 Chronicles 4:10, is about asking God to bless your life, your work and to be upon your future plans. I was reciting this prayer, giving each day to God, not out of what he can do for me, but rather, what can I do for Him. By entrusting each day to him, I knew where I needed to be, that he would help me with whatever happened, good or bad.(1)
Christopher considers himself both a musician and artist who just happens to be blind and autistic.(2) His goal is to share God’s vision through his inspirational singing.
Christopher’s aunt said this of him,
“He teaches us to not see everything with our eyes, but to see things the way God sees things, through our heart,”
