“Embarrassingly Blind,” or Deja- flippin’-vu!
I love me some Twitter! Why? Because one can connect with people that are following a particular topic, and it has nothing to do with the social circles one runs in. (BTW, Ken Wahl of “Wise Guys” follows me…I’m just sayin’.)
Well, anyway, I’m currently reading a book called “Embarrassingly Blind” by Nelse Wynne Jr. My boss probably thinks I should be reading his books, but I made a promise to Nelse before I started working for Kevin, so Kevin is NEXT on the list!
I’m not through with the book yet, but what I read yesterday was so flippin’ PROPHETIC I had to share! Aaaaand it’s just HISTORY! Oh those pesky FACTS! Nelse covers the early political history of our country in light of the perspective of slavery, later race relations, and then on to the Presidencies thus far into the book.
Get a load of this history about Jimmy Carter (who is now doing CARTER-wheels that he is not the worst president ever):
ECONOMIC CRISIS “The stagnant growth in the economy, in combination with high inflation, which was often called “stagflation” saw an unprecedented situation in the American economy.”
ENERGY CRISIS “Carter persuaded Congress to create the “Department of Energy”….The summer of 1979 saw major oil shortages throughout the country due to instability in the Middle East. Increasing pressure to act forced Carter to give a series of televised addresses to the nation. In those addresses to the country he complained that there was a “crisis of confidence that had struck at the very heart and soul of our national will.” (The ol’, “blame the victim mentality)
IRAN HOSTAGE CRISIS “A new radical Islamic regime, led by the Ayatollah Khomeini overthrew America’s ally the Shah of Iran in 1979. Thousands of moderate Islamists were arrested, expelled or executed. In November, student revolutionaries stormed the US Embassy in Tehran and took fifty-two US citizen hostage. Carter tried to negotiate with Iran, which proved to be unsuccessful. In April 1980, Carter approved a rescue attempt. The attempt failed miserably when several helicopters malfunctioned. Due to the Carter Administration’s massive cuts in the military, maintaining the equipment was just impossible. Ironically, the hostages were released after 444 days, on the day that Ronald Reagan was inaugurated.” (Boo-yah!)
Is Nelse Wynne Jr. a flippin’ NOSTRADAMUS? Naw, just a bright guy who happens to know that there is nothing new under the sun, and history repeats itself.
Nelse Wynne Jr. uniquely informs the American community how Blacks can save the country by returning to their Republican roots. As he watched Americans vote over the year, he noticed Americans making uninformed decisions.
Ecclesiastes 1:9 (c) And there is nothing new under the sun.
