America’s Gone “Section 8”!

Leslie Brown

“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”~Maimonides Give a man an E.B.T. card, Section 8 housing, free or subsidized health care, and a phone and you will have a Democratic voter for life.

Remember in elementary school in about 4th or 5th grade when there was a popularity contest, err, umm, an election for something or other at school?

It was often the kids that were popular begin with, that chose to run. But to “seal the deal” before voting took place, they may have brought some candy to school, and were really, really nice to kids they wouldn’t have normally given the time of day to.

Have we not grown up since elementary school as voters? We need to look at what people have done, not just what they say, or say they are going to do. When a nation has more “piglets on the teat” than people “feeding the sow”, what happens?

Whatever happened to self-reliance, responsibility, and paying one’s own way? When I taught school at a “Title I” (government subsidized) school, I had a kid who was on the free or reduced lunch program who got picked up in a Lincoln Navigator aaaand had a nicer cell phone than I did! Houston, we have a problem!

Is it up to us, the voters to do some research on the candidates, and do some digging to find out about their character instead of being “spoon-fed” by 30 second sound bites from M.S.N.B.C. and the like.
There will always be those that try to “buy votes”, because they want the power, prestige and control. Are we going to keep falling for them?
