All more alike than different.
“Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof. Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth…because I’m happy”. Those words have struck a chord with people from around the world. People from Spain, Jamaica, Germany and just about everyplace else are making their own “Happy” Videos and posting them to YouTube.
Old, young, rich and poor from all over the place are “getting their groove on” to this “Happy” beat. Pharrell’s original video has 250 million hits. I was watching a YouTube vid of him being interviewed by Oprah. When she played his song “Happy” on the screen on the set, it showed how contagious the song is and how people all over the world are making their own “Happy” videos using his song. It was amazing. People of so many varying cultures were having fun. It was like watching an international Soul Train line. They were on the subway, at work, on the street, in the park and everywhere…getting happy. At that moment, I realized that people want and need to be happy…even if it’s just for a minute.
I realized that we are all more alike than we are different. I realized that there’s still hope for this world. I realized that if governments would just get out of the way and leave us alone…we all might just get up and dance…and be happy. Got a “Happy Video” that you put together? If not, make one and get it out there.
