Some People Never Grow Up….

Leslie Brown

When I was a kid, say third or fourth grade, there was a virulent outbreak of “Cooties” on the school playground.  You know, the “us” versus “them” mentality with none of us having any control whatsoever as to what MADE us the “us” or them the “them”. Some people are still stuck there.

“Miss Monica”, beloved matriarchal type figure in a diverse Denver neighborhood became the target of a hateful note whose sender didn’t even have the “Denver Nuggets” to reveal their name. Nice.

Instead of unnerving and dividing the neighborhood, it drew them together as they rallied around Miss Monica realizing what they have in their historical neighborhood. All I can say to the perpetrator which I will translate to their level is “Nana, nana boo boo”.
