Al Qaeda not running, and defiant as ever (video)

Before the 2012 election, President Obama boasted, “Al Qaeda is on the run,” but apparently they were just out for a jog.

While some on the Left call the Tea Party terrorists, disturbing videotape shows a group of approximately 100 followers of the most aggressive faction of Al Qaeda meeting in Yemen.

Neither the C.I.A. or the Pentagon was aware of this meeting until after the fact.

The leader of this group is Nasir-al-Wuhayshi, know as the second in command of Al Qaeda globally.  The leader was quoted as saying,

“We must eliminate the cross; the bearer of the cross is the United States!”

U.S. officials say the tape signals a new time of plotting. The very same Peter Bergen, CNN national security analyst who said American right-wing extremists are more dangerous than Al Qaeda, had this to say about this situation in Yemen:

“The main problem about this group is that it has a bomb maker who can put bombs on planes that can’t be detected.”

Bergen is speaking of the same bomb maker who made the bomb used by the “underwear bomber” in 2009’s failed Christmas Day attack.

Glossing over the truth won’t make us any safer, it only invites more danger.  Citizens need to open their eyes, be vigilant and demand “peace through strength” and a government that sees thing for what they are, not what it wishes things were.
