CNN National Security Analyst gets the political spectrum all wrong.
In an opinion piece posted earlier today on the CNN website, Peter Bergen, CNN National Security Analyst, and Director at the New America Foundation (funded by George Soros), stated that, “…since 9/11 extremists affiliated with a variety of far-right wing ideologies, including white supremacists, anti-abortion extremists and anti-government militants, have killed more people in the United States than have extremists motivated by al Qaeda’s ideology.”
This statement by Mr. Bergen is false on many levels, but it is primarily false because it begins with a faulty premise about the true orientation of the spectrum of Geo-Political, Socio-Economic ideologies. The most simple and accurate way to view the whole “Left vs. Right” conflict is from the perspective of “control”. In other words, when you move one direction or the other, who is gaining or losing “control”?
Moving in the leftward direction, “government” becomes more centralized and powerful, and the people within that entity called “government” gain more “control” over their fellow man. Moving in the opposite direction, or right, the power and influence of “government” (and the people who make up that entity) becomes more dispersed, localized and the individual citizen gains greater control over their own life. It’s that simple. Also, it must be noted that it is irrelevant whether that “government” is secular or religious in nature, it is still an issue of “control”.
Here is a simple and accurate diagram that well illustrates that point:
It is 100-percent wrong to characterize Islam as a “Right-Wing” religion and ideology for one simple reason. Islam offers no real “choice” to the individual. Islam is not just a religion, and it’s not just an ideology. Islam is in fact, an entire Cultural, Religious and Legal system, where the religious leaders (Imams) have almost absolute control. At the end of the day, the “choices” offered by Islam are to 1) Convert to Islam “voluntarily”, 2) Not convert to Islam, but live under the restrictions (loss of the Unalienable Rights that Americans believe in) ordained by Sharia Law for all those who are Dhimmi’s (Non-Muslims), 3) Be “converted by the sword” to Islam…which means to be executed in the name of Islam.
When you gaze back at that diagram, you should be asking yourself, “How can Islam be a Far-Right Ideology, when everything they do is based off the use of, or the threat of brute force?” The rest of his article is filled with just as much bunk, but when you understand that Bergen started out with a completely fallacious premise, it becomes clear that its nearly impossible for him to get anything else correct.
Sorry. No data so far.
